According to a blog post in MacDailyNews, it seems that the initial request for iPad is higher than expected. No one knows the real numbers so far, but some sources are predicting that Apple could get as high as 20.000 orders per hour, which is apparently a little big too much for the Cupertino company. Some of the people who wanted to change their deliveries to a in-store pick-up were advised to first cancel the pre-order delivery and make another one specifically for in-store pick-up. In the first launching phase there will be only Wi-Fi iPads available, the 3G versions are expected in late April. But with this unexpected surge in sale, that date may be delayed as well.
Worth to mention the fact that almost all analysts were highly negative in regard to the new Apple product. Despite the predictions, iPad seems to be doing fairly well.
If anybody has some more info about how iPad pre-orders are going, I’d love to learn more.
